[uredi kodo]Dear Wikimedians for Sustainable Development,
As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on a year that has been an uneven year for our user group. While the journey has been marked by some truly inspiring events, most of our efforts have been largely uncoordinated and the user group hasn't been the support it could have been. Yet, there's a glimmer of hope and a world of potential for 2024.
Highlights of 2023:
- Newsletters Galore
- We kicked off the year with zeal, sharing updates and inspiration through four newsletters. The number of things happening in the movement is astounding, but we need to rethink the format of the newsletter going into the next year.
- Growing Strong
- The Wikimedians for Sustainable Development family welcomed 33 new members in 2023. Your passion and dedication continue to inspire us, and we look forward to nurturing this community spirit in the year ahead.
- Wikimania Talks
- Our voices echoed far and wide at Wikimania, where several members of our community took the virtual stage to share insights and ideas about everything from Wikipedians-in-Residence's to open data. Your contributions showcased our commitment to sustainable development on a global scale.
- Content Creation Magic
- Throughout the year, our extended community demonstrated incredible dedication to expanding the knowledge base on Wikipedia. Countless hours were spent creating and curating content that aligns with our mission, contributing to a more sustainable digital ecosystem.
- Campaigning hard
- We saw a large variety of campaigns, from writing challenges to editathons. The willingness to experiment with new formats and partners, as well as learning from past efforts, shows great promise for the future.
Acknowledging Challenges:
While we celebrate these achievements, we acknowledge that 2023 presented its fair share of challenges. A lack of global coordination reminded us that the road to sustainable development is not always linear. However, it is precisely these challenges that fuel our determination to work together more cohesively in the coming year and proof that the user group is needed.
Hopeful Anticipation for 2024:
As we turn the page to 2024, let's carry forward the lessons learned and the successes celebrated. We are optimistic that, with renewed energy and a collective commitment, we will overcome obstacles and create an even more impactful and connected Wikimedians for Sustainable Development community.
Here's to a year of collaboration, growth, and making a lasting impact on the world through our shared passion for sustainability. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities and pave the way for a brighter future.

Research about the tools on Wikimedia projects by the CEE Hub

We would like to invite you to submit your responses to the survey dedicated to the tools that are used currently across the Wikimedia projects and the tools that you want to have.
This survey was made by the working group of the CEE Hub, and your responses will be reviewed afterwards, as we want to continue supporting the communities. That support can be documentation for certain most used tools by other communities across the region per specific topics, finding solutions for new tools to be created in the future, creating most needed tools in the region (so called "regional wishlist list"), and many other options.
Deadline to fill in the survey is 20th of August, 2024.

Goriška pokrajina
[uredi kodo]Prosim poglej zadnji popravek tega članka. Osebno se ne bom več spuščal v to debato, ki se vleče že skoraj četrt stoletja (od leta 2007 dalje!), in kjer imajo vsi svoj prav, venda bi bilo umestno, da se stvar enkrat za vselej določi. Morda si edini, ki ima dovolj vztrajnosti in vpliva, da ti zadeva uspe. Meni se zdi, da sta obe obliki pravilni, tako Goriška pokrajina kot Pokrajina Gorica (isto za Trst in Videm), vendar je potrebno, da je poimenovanje poenoteno v vseh člankih. Zdravo! A09 te je tudi predlagal kot morebitnega pomočnika, ker zelo dobro govoriš angleško. Letos sem dopolnil angleški članek o prekmurščini, ker je prof. Greenberg prevedel v angleški jezik Pavlovo prekmursko slovnico. Problem pa je to: poor english. V slovenski wikipediji mi je Janezdrilc pomagal primerno preoblikovati članek. Preimenovanje strani Skupnostna znanost v Občanska znanost
[uredi kodo]Pozdravljen. Pišem ti kot avtorju strani o Skupnostna znanost. V Mreži občanske znanosti si zelo trudimo za terminološko poenotenje prevoda termina citizen science, za katerega menimo, da je najbolj primeren izraz Občanska znanost. Ker vem, da je preimenovanje strani kar tehnično zahtevna zadeva, bi prosil za pomoč! Prosim, če lahko zaenkrat samo zamenjaš ime strani na Občanska znanost, potem pa bom še dopolnil vsebine. [uredi kodo]Hoj, ne vidim ravno smisla v tej predlogi – namenjena je angleškim govorcem, saj njihov zapis in izgovorjava se ne ujemata ravno, za slovenske bralce pa je totalno neuporabna. Da ne bo ravno rdečih linkov na dokumentacijskih straneh predlog predlagam samo prazno stran. Kaj praviš? Predlogi za kraje

Za nekatere kraje, predvsem tiste, ki se vežejo s predlogom na, je smiselno na to opozoriti, saj pogosto delamo napake. Gre za klasične primere: na Bledu, na Jesenicah, na Ptuju, na Dobravi tu nimamo težav. Pri krajih, ki so se hitreje razširili pa se predlog na izgublja v rabi in poenostavlja z v, v Črnučah, v Viču, v Rudniku v Ljubljani, v Prevaljah, v Grosupljem, kar je strašno zaskrbljajoče. V vikipedijskem uvodu, ki poda ključne podatke mora biti predvsem jasno, kako se pravilno naslovi kraj, so krajani iz ali z domačega kraja. lep pozdrav in hvala za razumevanje. - Lep pozdrav. To so vse koristni podatki, vendar po mojem mnenju ne spadajo v enciklopedijo, ker so slovarske narave. Bralec naj se o tem pouči v krajevnem leksikonu. Poleg tega teh podatkov ne bi vključevali samo v nekatere članke, saj si prizadevamo za poenotenost vsebine. - Kul, kaj pa če potem pri izgovorjavi(ki je predvsem pri velikih mestih že podana) damo samo ; na Bledu, in brez blejski, Blejec, kar je res malo slovarsko, po tem sem se zgledoval, je malce dolgo, ker je predvsem pri zgodovinsko pomembnih krajih dodanih več tujih imen, v nem ali ita. Tako bi s treh podatkov( kar je dejansko iz slovarja) ohranili samo rabo s predlogom, sepravi dve besedi? Bi to bilo smotrno. Grosuplje (na Grosupljem) je mesto v Sloveniji in je središče istoimenske občine na Dolenjskem.

Ideja za članek
[uredi kodo]Hojla, bi lahko ustvaril članek pomoč pri prostovoljnem končanju življenja? Vsaj glede na pretekla urejanja bi rekel, da ga imaš že v delu, pa vseeno ne bi rad kaj v zelje skakal.
