Use[uredi kodo]
Use this template for Greek words for which the Ancient Greek description is not satisfactory or limiting. Such words can be:
- Words of Koine Greek such as grško κράββατος (krábbatos, "bed").
- Words of Late Antiquity and Atticist words of Byzantine literature, such as grško ἀθεμιτογαμία (athemitogamíā, "unlawful marriage").
- Names, such as grško Αγησίλαος (Agēsílaos, "Agesilaus") and grško Σωκράτης (Sōkrátēs, "Socrates").
- Hellenized Latin and Hebrew names, such as grško Ἰουστινιανός (Justinian), grško Αὐρήλιος (Aurelius) and grško Ἰωσήφ (Joseph).
- Words that have remained unchanged throughout the history of the Greek language such as grško θάλασσα (thálassa, "sea") and grško ἄνθρωπος (ánthrōpos, "man"). Their meaning may be the same.
- Newly coined scientific (or not) words from Ancient Greek roots, such as haemophilia and astronaut.
