Generalporočnik (Avstralija)

Generalporočnik (izvirno angleško Lieutenant General; kratica LTGEN) je tretji najvišji vojaški čin in drugi najvišji aktivni čin Avstralske kopenske vojske in je neposredni naslednik britanskega čina generalporočnika; velja za trizvezdni čin.

Je enakovreden činu viceadmirala Kraljeve avstralske vojne mornarice in činu zračnega maršala Kraljevega avstralskega vojnega letalstva. V Natovi strukturi činov spada v razred O-9. Podrejen je činu generala in nadrejen činu generalmajorja.[1]

Trenutno je čin generalporočnika povezan z naslednjimi položaji: načelnik Avstralske kopenske vojske (Chief of Army), namestnik načelnika Avstralske obrambne sile (Vice Chief of the Defence Force), načelnik združenih operacij (Chief of Joint Operations) in načelnik razvoja možnosti (Chief of Capability Development).

Oznaka čina generala je prekrižana sablja in baton, maršalska palica, nad njima pa se nahaja še krona svetega Edvarda; torej ista kot je oznaka čina britanskega generalporočnika, pri čemer ima avstralska oznaka na spodnjem delu še napis Australia.
