Temelj ekumenizma[uredi | uredi kodo]

Dejstvo je, da vsi kristjani, ki pripadajo prevladujočim krščanskim Cerkvam in skupnostim, izpovedujejo isto vero v Jezusa kot Gospoda in Odrešenika v življenju vernika kakor tudi po njegovi smrti; da je sveto pismo ali biblija navdihnjena Božja beseda ^[1], a prejeti krst po trinitarni formuli briše grehe ter prejemnika včlani v krščansko skupnost; to troje velja za osnovo ekumenizma in njegovega cilja, ki obstaja v krščanski enotnosti.^[2]^[3] Ecumenists cite Predloga:Bibleverse as the biblical grounds of striving for church unity, in which Jesus prays "may all be one" in order "that the world may know" and believe the Gospel message.^[4]^[5]
