Ta predloga se uporablja le za taksone, katerih katerih imena ureja ICZN (Mednarodni kodeks zoološke nomenklature -International Code of Zoological Nomenclature). Za range nižje od vrste, katerih imena regulira ICN (Mednarodni kodeks nomenklature za alge, glive in rastline za rastline), glejte Predloga:Infraspeciesbox.

Uporaba

Uporablja se na skoraj enak način kot Predloga:Avtomatska taksonomka, le da morate tukaj določiti:

• |genus=ime roda; e.g. (e.g. Panthera)
• |subgenus=povezava na podrod, če obstaja
• |species=specifično ime (npr. leo)
• |species link= (neobvezna povezava na članek o vrsti; prednastavljeno je na genus species)
• |subspecies=podspecifično ime (npr. melanochaita)

Za razliko od predloge {{Speciesbox}}, se parameter |taxon= ne more uporabiti; tri dele trinomenskega imena je treba navesti ločeno.

Če je podvrsta izumrla, medtem ko vrsta in rod nista, morate navesti: - |extinct=yes ali leto (če želite prikazati leto izumrtja, je potrebno navesti leto, ne glede na to, ali je parameter |status= nastavljen ali ne, in ne glede na to, ali je rod izumrl).

If the species (and hence the subspecies) is extinct, but the genus is not, then you need to specify:
